D-MADE will host a ‘Knowledge Exchange Forum’, that will offer finalists an opportunity to engage in capacity building and networking with a variety of development stakeholders.
The Forum will consist of (i) an exhibition with booths of finalists' projects and (ii) a seminar with keynote speakers and panel discussion groups.
Proposed topics for the exhibit and the seminar include:
• Investments opportunities for African diaspora MSMEs;
• Basic information about best practices with regard to entrepreneurship and management;
• Access to funding/capital;
• Innovation - new developments in entrepreneurship and services that reach the poor;
• Business incubators/business support centers;
• Concrete examples of lessons to be learned from African and non-African diaspora organizations’ success stories.
Expected outcomes
• Take stock of developments and applications to date that have had a positive impact;
• Share lessons learned from other diaspora communities;
• Engage with international agencies, NGOs and practitioners;
• Forging partnerships and networking among African diaspora;
• Scale up good practices;
• Motivate the development of new activities and partnerships through demonstration effects;
• Better knowledge of diaspora expertise/skills readily available in Europe.
